Imperial Life in the Emerald City
I just finished reading "Imperial Life in the Emerald City" by Rajiv Chandresekaran (I think that's how you spell it). It's about the Green Zone (now International Zone) in Baghdad under the rule of viceroy of Iraq, Paul "Jerry" Bremer. It reveals much behind the rebuilding efforts, focus less on the military efforts (though of course the do play the role).
The whole American regime is portrayed as a series of fumbles, poor choices and missed opportunites, and the Iraqi expectation contrasts sharply with the American ideas.

On a sadder note, my parents had their cat of 10+ years put down. Although she's not really been my cat for nearly 4 years, I'm still quite sad over the whole thing and will miss her dearly. At least her suffering wasn't long.
